1. What is a notarized sworn translation bureau? 

Notarized sworn translation bureaus – as the name suggests – are tied to notary publics. Essentially, they employ freelance translators who work in any number of language pairs, and are certified to translate official documents. 

2. What is your pricing policy? 

For written translation, we charge X amount (in Turkish Lira, generally) per 1,000 characters (no spaces) (approx. one page of text). To find out how many characters your document contains, if you’re using MS Word, click on Tools > Word Count. 

We calculate the price of the end product according to how many characters your document contains in total. 

Note: We treat texts that contain fewer than 1.000 characters in total as one page.

3. Who sets the language rates? 

Some translation bureaus follow language rates suggested by the Turkish Association of Translators (Türkiye Çevirmenler Derneği), others set their own rates. There is no universal standard.

4. Do you provide discounts to loyal customers? 

Yes, we do, albeit things depend on the size of the project(s) in question. We then carry that discounted rate over to other new projects as well, either as a total, or per page.

5. What is your payment policy?

You must pay us first in order to receive your translation. That said, we’ll inform you beforehand about how much you owe (in total) after everything has been completed. You can pay us by depositing money directly into our bank account, via electronic funds transfer (EFT), or in person at our office. 

6. How do you deal with confidential documents?

You and we would sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement in such cases. If you already have your own contract that you’d like us to use, you can e-mail it to us.
